Fall 2024
The theme for our FALL 2024 cycle is 🐛TRANSFORMATION🦋. Each group will explore how our development, our experiences and our self-awareness play interconnected roles in the forming & transforming of our ever-evolving identities.
We will look to nature for examples of changing lifeforms. Like the chrysalis/cocoon phase of a butterfly, transformation can be dark, self-protective and solitary. It can seem like the caterpillar is falling apart! What emerges is an amazement that possesses new found abilities (flight!) and unique beauty.
For our creative inspiration, we turn to Kintsugi- an ancient Japanese method of repairing broken pottery with gold. This art form highlights the cracks to honor what had once been broken. This is an accessible metaphor for even our youngest clients, who understand that a physical scar is a visual reminder of a healed injury.
Spring 2025
The theme for our SPRING 2025 cycle is GLOW-IN-THE-DARK. The natural world offers so many exciting examples of luminous light occurring in a dark environment (fireflies, bioluminescent algae, aurora borealis, lightning). We will delve into these remarkable elements to spark inspiration of how we, too, embody a light within us. Projects and discussion prompts will change each week to foster meaningful introspection and peer affirmation. Individual, weekly art pieces will come together into a single, cohesive work of art to bring home on the final session.
Fall 2025
The theme for our FALL 2025 cycle is 💫gravity💫. We will gather inspiration from the orbiting planets (and moons!) that travel around us. And consider the powerful force that holds our feet on the group and keeps our solar system together.
Spring 2024
Our SPRING 2024 cycle is inspired by LABYRINTHS & MAZES. Both patterns have an intricate design and a purposeful invitation. Labyrinths have a singular, intentional path into the center. And follows the same path out again. This can represent the introspective journey of our inner selves. Mazes, on the other hand, present multiple options with twists and turns to create a sense of searching and decision-making to ultimately find your way through. The maze can illustrate our outer lives- both opportunities to explore and obstacles to confront.
Fall 2023
Our FALL 2023 cycle is inspired by the experience of peering through a KALEIDOSCOPE. During each group gathering, we will introduce a creative exercise with intentionally selected art materials and guidance. Members are invited to consider metaphorical connections and share personal expressions and insights with peers.Together, we will explore this theme through three conceptual lenses:
~ Reflecting on transitions, patterns, and the constancy of change
~ Building awareness of the various perspectives through which we view ourselves and the world around us
~ Exploring the ways we choose to share or conceal parts of who we are- with others, as well as ourselves.
Spring 2023
Our SPRING 2023 cycle is inspired by 💭DREAMS🦄. This creative spark evokes 3 conceptual lenses: 1.) our subconscious ways of processing memories and experiences while dreaming, 2.) our personal hopes & goals for the future that lies ahead, and 3.) our relationship with sleep, bedtime rituals, and special comfort items that allow us to rest. During each group gathering, we will introduce a creative exercise with specially designed art materials. Members are invited to consider metaphorical connections and share personal expressions and insights with peers.
